FAQ’s About Your Extended Stay Reservation in Big Bear
How do I reserve a home for an extended stay?
The reservation will require at least 50% down or security deposit paid to book a property depending on the date of arrival. Reservations are to be paid in full 30 days prior to arrival, (payment schedules can be discussed and approved by Big Bear Vacations for longer stays Reservations are non-refundable unless the request for cancellation is beyond 30 days from arrival date A cancellation fee of 10% of the total reservation amount applies.Refunds will not be provided for cancellations due to weather, road conditions, acts of nature, electrical failure, equipment malfunctions, mountain critter sightings or other circumstances beyond our control. Optional CSA Travel Insurance can be purchased, inquire at time of booking.
Is a security deposit required?
A refundable security deposit is required in the amount determined by the base monthly rent of the property. The security deposit will be charged to your
credit card and refunded 30 days after check-out, provided that the property is left in reasonable and undamaged condition. A pet fee is required for pets, the fee is $100 per pet per month on all extended stay reservations.
What amenities can I expect to be provided and what else should I bring?
You can expect your home’s kitchen to have the basic items to cook and serve your meals, including plates, silverware, glasses, mugs, some
pots/pans and utensils. It is recommend ed, you bring any specialty items to use when preparing meals as well as foil , plastic wrap and food storage containers. The rental will have clean towels, wash cloths, hand towels, and bath mats. If your rental is equipped with a washer and dryer, you can wash your own towels and sheets. Maid service and linen exchange is available at our office, extra fees may apply for these services. You may want to bring your own hair dryer,extra clothes hangers, irons and ironing board as we do not provide these in every home. It is recommend ed that you bring extra pillows and blankets if you prefer.
Other helpful extended stay information
The homes are rented on a monthly rate and there will be no refund of any money for leaving early. Any excessive use of utilities will be charged to guest.Not all homesprovide expanded TV service or Internet. If you require this check the amenities of the home to see if it has internet. The owner may approve putting in the service prior to your arrival at your expense. Homes are equipped as is and owner will not provide additional items you feel you need. A call to the owner can be made with the request, but owner has right of refusal. You are welcome to arrange an appointment to view the home and should be checking for items that you need and plan on bringing items with you when you arrive. Maintenance is available for problems from our office, but if the problem is due to user error or misuse, you will be responsible for the charge if any. Light bulbs, trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper,
batteries, cleaning items,vacuum cleaners, additional yard clean up, fans, space heaters, etc will not be provided during your stay.
How do I go about checking in to my extended stay vacation home?
Your home will be ready to check into at 4:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival. Please make sure to complete the Extended Stay Check-in Packet before arriving. If you are unable to do so, you can this at our office at check in. If you wish to check into your home early, stop in our office on the day of your arrival and, if the property is clean and inspected, we will be happy to accommodate your early check-in. Bring the credit card you used for your reservation, along with your ID as these are required for your check-in process. If for some reason the original credit card is not available, we may switch the charge onto a different card with an administrative fee of 4.62%.

If your extended stay is over 1 month you will be required to pay the next month’s rent 30 days prior to that month. When booking, you can set up automatic payment plans or you can call in to make a payment. Your rent is considered late 5 days after the due date, which will result in a $25.00 late fee.
